Highlights from Our 2025 European Tour

Tour Recap

This summer, Kid Davis & the Bullets brought their signature blend of rock & roll, Americana, and rhythm & soul across the Atlantic for the first time. From club stages in the Netherlands to late-night sets in Belgium, the Amsterdam tour was part road trip, part reunion, and part rock & roll revival.

Here you’ll find tour reflections from songwriter Michael Davis and photos capturing the moments in between the music.

Huge thanks to Vicky and Gio at Atomic Bookings Agency, Klaas Klerk and Sam at KUSTOM GRAPHIC DESIGN for helping make this crazy dream a reality. We couldn’t have done this without you!

From Michael:

“So you all may have heard that The Bullets just took a little trip east of Atlantic City.

This is the beginning of a series of blogs recounting and reminiscing about that journey. It had been a dream of mine to take the band to Europe. With the help of some fine people, we made that happen. I love reading travel books, Paul Theroux, Bill Bryson, Etc. Here's my attempt to relate some of the joy of getting the hell out of your own town.

I begin with a digression. It’s been three score and seven years since I have been assigned homework. I was attending Delaware County community college at the time. One of my homework assignments was to put together a band for a music performance class. Thus was formed a punk/blues band we decided to call the S&M Black and Blues Band. It wasn’t my first band, but it was my first step into what would become The Bullets.

For my latest homework, I have been asked to document (or to blog – a word which did not exist when I began this journey) the Bullets’ recent European tour. So, let’s see where this goes.

1 – Beginnings

I could go all the way back to 1966 or 1967 when I first saw the Philadelphia Phillies play the Cincinnati Reds at Connie Mack Stadium, but, I’ll forgo my history as a Phillies fan – too many sad, heartbreaking memories - and skip to Citizens Bank Park in 2023. I ran into a friend, Lou Indellini, at a game and he told me he was buying tickets for the Phillies 2024 game in London. Without much forethought, I asked him to get me one.

I decided to take a vacation and plan a couple weeks visiting friends in the Netherlands and France. While visiting my Dutch brother, Peter Noppen, in the Netherlands, I accompanied him to a concert by the Swedish honky-tonk band, Harmonica Sam. (note, there is not a harmonica player in that band. They play a Buck Owens-brand of country music).

Stepping out for a smoke, I had a conversation with a man (travel rule #1 always talk to the person standing next to you). I told him that I was in a band and he told me that he was affiliated with a festival in the town of Hoorn. As I was instructed by the manager of The Bullets, Jacque Varsalona, I gave the guy a card.

A couple of days later, I was informed by Jacque that we had been offered a spot at the Rock n Roll Hoorn festival. Jacque was going to be very busy in the upcoming months!”
